Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using autism.place ("Service", "Platform", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Description of Service

autism.place provides a community discovery platform connecting families with autism-friendly venues, events, and resources. Our Service includes:

  • Venue information and sensory-friendly ratings
  • Event listings and RSVP management
  • "Go Now" occupancy predictions
  • Community reviews and safety reports
  • Calendar integration and reminders

User Accounts

Account Creation

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Service. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

Acceptable Use

You Agree To:

  • Use the Service lawfully and respectfully
  • Provide honest, accurate reviews based on real experiences
  • Respect the privacy of other community members
  • Report safety concerns and incidents truthfully
  • Follow venue rules and event guidelines

You Agree NOT To:

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against others
  • Share personal information about children (names, photos, identifying details)
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Spam, solicit, or advertise without permission
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Service
  • Scrape or collect data without authorization
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose

User-Generated Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (reviews, ratings, reports). By posting content, you grant autism.place a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the Platform
  • Modify or adapt content for formatting or technical requirements
  • Create aggregate, anonymized reports and analytics

Content Moderation

We review all submitted reviews before publication. We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove content that violates these Terms or community standards. This includes content that is spam, offensive, false, or inappropriate.

Child Safety

DO NOT post identifying information about children, including names, photos, school names, or specific medical details. Violations will result in immediate content removal and potential account termination.

Event RSVPs and Attendance

  • RSVPs are commitments - Please only RSVP if you intend to attend
  • Cancellation courtesy - Cancel your RSVP if plans change to open spots for others
  • Capacity limits - Events have maximum attendance (typically 8-12 people)
  • No-show policy - Repeated no-shows may limit future RSVP privileges
  • Host communication - Respond to host messages and follow event guidelines

Venue Information

Accuracy and Updates

We strive to provide accurate, up-to-date venue information. However, venues may change policies, amenities, or hours without notice. We verify information periodically but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. Always confirm critical details directly with venues.

"Go Now" Meter Disclaimer

Occupancy predictions ("Quiet/Moderate/Busy") are estimates based on time-of-day patterns and are not guaranteed. Actual conditions may vary. Use predictions as guidance, not guarantees.

Report Issues

If you find inaccurate information or experience issues at a venue, please report it through our incident reporting system. We review all reports and update information accordingly.

Community Content

Third-Party Venues and Events

autism.place lists venues and events operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the actions, policies, safety, or quality of third-party venues. Always exercise your own judgment and supervise your children appropriately.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, autism.place SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any conduct or content of other users
  • Experiences at third-party venues or events
  • Unauthorized access to your account
  • Errors, bugs, or interruptions in the Service

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless autism.place, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Content you submit to the Platform

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, text, graphics, logos, and compilation of content, is owned by autism.place and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Dallas County, Texas, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court.

You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
